We recognise fully that it is in the best interests of our business to contribute fully to the community - whether as users, bug reporters, contributors or supporters - in order that the products we support continue to innovate and improve. But more than that, we're not just contributing because it makes business sense or because we want to be accepted, we're doing it because we WANT to.

Everyone involved with Kineo Open Source is passionate about both open source in general and the products we are supporting, and we want to see open source become more and more successful. Our recruitment policy for all roles from CEO down is to find and recruit people who consider working in open source to be living the dream and, if they're not already an open source rock star, let them become one!

It is therefore our aim to interact fully with the open source product communities in a variety of ways, which may vary from product to product in accordance with product partner requirements. This constitutes our open source social contract and includes:

• Contributing code to the project whether in the form of fixes, extensions or customisations.
• Contributing documentation to the project whether amends and improvements to official project documentation or our own tutorials.
• Contributing financial donations from our profits to the project foundation or similar entity, whether as discretionary payments or as part of a formal partnership agreement.
• Sharing knowledge, lessons learned and best practice information using project forums or mailing lists.
